The guest speaker for the July 2017 GM meeting is MG (Ret) Bill Barron

Bill is CEO of Knox Regional Development Alliance and will update the community on recent progress standing up the organization and offer some details on what to expect next.

According to an article in Business First by reporter Marty Finley, the The KRDA is an  organization created not only to protect and expand the military functions of Fort Knox but also to attract new business to Fort Knox and its surrounding counties, including drawing defense contractors that routinely do work at Fort Knox.

Mr. Finley’s article went  on to say that Fort Knox currently employs about 26,000 military and civilian employees and contractors. According to data provided by KRDA, 1,000 jobs created at Fort Knox could bring $17 million in new U.S. Department of Defense contracts awarded to regional vendors, nearly 600 spinoff jobs, $195 million in new regional consumer and retail spending and increased compensation of more than $116 million.

A question and answer session will take place at the end of the presentation.
